Lesson 4 : This is My Family

Family is where we all belong to and from where our identity comes from. A person is valued based on his family and upbringing. We all belong to a family and it is our family that keeps us together through thick and thin. Without having a family, no person is complete and the completeness comes with good family bonding. Now what is a family? By just saying that you live with your family does not hold any values to being a part of the family. Four or five persons living under one roof does not become a family.
So, can you guest what am I going to share today?
Yup, that's correct. Today, I am going to share some information about family in Japanese.

First and foremost, if someone ask you
Anata no gokazoku wa nannin kazoku desu ka?
あなたのごかぞくわなんいんかぞくですか?
its mean,
How many members are there in your family?

you can say,

My family is a six-person family.
watashi no kazoku wa rokunin kazoku desu.
私のかぞくわろくにんかぞくです。

The one that I highlight is the number of your family. You can enter your number of your family member in the word that I had highlight.
