Where Are You From ?

A country is a region that is identified as a distinct national entity in political geography. A country may be an independent sovereign state or one that is occupied by another state, as a non-sovereign or formerly sovereign political division, or a geographic region associated with sets of previously independent or differently associated people with distinct political characteristics.

So, today we will learn how to say country names in Japanese.

The Japanese word for country is:

KUNI
くに( HIRAGANA )
( KANJI )

If someone asks you:

Anata wa doko kara kita no desu ka?

あなたわどこからきたのですか?

Its mean, “Where do you come from?".

Then,  you should answer:

Watashi wa  America  kara ki mashita.

わたしわあめりかからきました。

These are other example of other country in Japanese word:

However, when you want to say:

I am American.

You can say:

Watashi wa America jin.

わたしわ あめりか じん。

When you want to say about language, you can say:

Watashi wa hanasu  ( languange )   go desu.

わたしわ話す ごです。

For example:

Watashi wa hanasu arabia go desu.
わたしわはなすあらびあごです。

* jin is for country, while go is for language

So, that's all from me. Thank yo. Hope you understand  ( * ◡ * ) .
